| Abstract |
This paper conducted a number of analyses on traditional red chillies that were dried using a sun dryer and solar hybrid collector. For this study, a forced convection solar dryer was employed, and it performed better than the others in all categories, including drying time, moisture removal rate, electrical and thermal efficiency, and output air temperature. In general, solar radiation was proposed as a way to generate energy for a solar drier. A hybrid collector has been used to provide both the electrical and thermal power required to run a solar dryer. To test the sun drier, nine kilograms of normal red chili were dried in drying air that ranged in temperature from 32 to 56 degrees Celsius. The original moisture content of the red chili, which was 73.5% (weight basis), was reduced to 17.6% (weight basis) on seven days in a row with clear, bright days. From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the solar combination collector with solar dryer was in operation. In order to get a better knowledge of solar hybrid collectors with solar dryers, a comparison research was conducted. The results showed that drying solar dryer produced better results than drying in open sun. Additionally, this piece was compared to other distinguished earlier works of literature, which are superior in every way. |
