Embedded Based Auto-SOS Network Using IoT

Abstract

Road accidents often become critical due to delays in contacting emergency services. This paper proposes an embedded Auto-SOS system that utilizes automatic accident detection capabilities, incorporating impact, rollover, lire, and alcohol sensors, along with GPS for precise location monitoring. GSM communication and an ESP32-based IoT dashboard enable fast and multi-channel alert delivery, while a Raspberry Pi camera captures visual information of the accident scene. Image-based sensing provides multiple viewpoints of accident sites to assist emergency responders. When an accident is detected, the system immediately transmits location coordinates, sensor status, and captured images to pre-assigned contacts, ensuring reliable and timely alert delivery even under unstable network conditions. Experimental results demonstrate reduced alert latency, improved system stability, and enhanced reliability compared to existing single-channel solutions.
